Every year, Alitagtag municipality celebrates the Filipino tradition of Tapusan. And this tradition increasingly flourishing and becomes more vibrant through the years. The Tapusan is held every last day of May. This activity include flower arrangement at church, procession of floats containing floral arrangements, replicas of beautiful landscapes in the Philippines, images and statue of the Virgin Mary and sagala’s of citizens of Alitagtag. In Alitagtag, there is only one road in town, running east to west. Spectators usually go to the middle of the town to catch a glimpse of all eight floats, one for each village or “buklod”. Everybody in the parade walks slowly as they say the rosary. The band will be playing behind the float after each decade of the rosary. It is a very moving and festive experience.
