“BEDAZZLING”




We all know that December is the most wonderful time of the year, it is all about giving, loving and of course the families celebrating the Christmas and New Year together. And speaking of Christmas we should do something to feel the spirit of it, just like here in Quezon Province. Every town put some efforts to design the plaza and the municipal hall with so many precious lights that make the whole place wonderful. But there is one place that stands out it is the Tunnel of Lights in Candelaria, Quezon.

            The tunnel of lights is very in demand here because it is the first time to have this kind of decoration for Christmas. And because of that many people came here at night with their family and friends.

Most of the times, a lot of people visiting this place just to take pictures, of course for their facebook story, Instagram feed or as they called “Feed Goals”. But the most important thing in visiting this place is to feel the spirit of Christmas it brings to everyone.

Being a legitimate  Tanaueño , I observed a lot of changes from our town.  Victory Mall is one of the Big Project of our Late Tanauan City Mayor Thony Halili . Every year, Alitagtag municipality celebrates the Filipino tradition of Tapusan. And this tradition increasingly flourishing and becomes more vibrant through the years. The Tapusan is held every last day of May. This activity include flower arrangement at church, procession of floats containing floral arrangements, replicas of beautiful landscapes in the Philippines, images and statue of the Virgin Mary and sagala’s of citizens of Alitagtag. In Alitagtag, there is only one road in town, running east to west. Spectators usually go to the middle of the town to catch a glimpse of all eight floats, one for each village or “buklod”. Everybody in the parade walks slowly as they say the rosary. The band will be playing behind the float after each decade of the rosary. It is a very moving and festive experience.
