Tara na sa Niyogyugan!



We’ve come to that time of the year again wherein we celebrate the most awaited festival here in Quezon – Niyogyugan Festival 2018.

This event takes place every August as a form of thanksgiving for the bountiful harvest of coconuts which is the province’s focal product. It aims to bond all municipalities of Quezon to uphold the coconut industry as well as to promote other products of their local. Various activities, pageants, contests, and the presence of known artists give highlight to this celebration.

First, take a glance of these booths that uplifts the beauty of the places that are within our project area – Lucena, Sariaya, and of course, Tayabas. Some locals are as follows:

After these gorgeous booths, what excited everyone is the parade of floats together with the candidates for Bb. Niyogyugan 2018, street dancing competition, and most especially, the presence of JM De Guzman and Yassi Pressman. You can’t deny the beauty of the floats plus these two artists that hyped the feeling of their audience despite of the unexpected fall of rain.

Every year, Alitagtag municipality celebrates the Filipino tradition of Tapusan. And this tradition increasingly flourishing and becomes more vibrant through the years. The Tapusan is held every last day of May. This activity include flower arrangement at church, procession of floats containing floral arrangements, replicas of beautiful landscapes in the Philippines, images and statue of the Virgin Mary and sagala’s of citizens of Alitagtag. In Alitagtag, there is only one road in town, running east to west. Spectators usually go to the middle of the town to catch a glimpse of all eight floats, one for each village or “buklod”. Everybody in the parade walks slowly as they say the rosary. The band will be playing behind the float after each decade of the rosary. It is a very moving and festive experience. Being a legitimate  Tanaueño , I observed a lot of changes from our town.  Victory Mall is one of the Big Project of our Late Tanauan City Mayor Thony Halili . It aims to provide jobs and business opportunities to  Tanaueño . Also a place where we can shop, dine, play and walk around. It is indeed a remarkable success of his reign.
