Santo Tomas is one of the municipalities in the province of Batangas in the Calabarzon (Region IV-A) of the Philippines. It was the first town in Batangas using the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX). However, It borders the cities of Calamba City to the north, Los Baños to the north-east, Alaminos to the east, Tanauan City and Malvar to the west, and Lipa City to the south.

The patron of Santo Tomas is Saint Thomas Aquinas, patron of Catholic schools, whose feast day is celebrated every 7th day of March.



Every February 28 until March 7, 2018, Santo Tomas celebrate “The MAHAGUYOG Festival” as thanksgiving for the abundant harvest of crops by the farmers. MAHAGUYOG represents the four agricultural products in the town. It stands for MA – mais (corn), HA – halaman (plants), GU – gulay (vegetables), and YOG – niyog (coconut).

Gen. Miguel Malvar Shrine

Santo Tomas is the hometown of Philippine Revolution and Philippine-American War hero Gen. Miguel Malvar, he was born on 27 September 1865 in Santo Tomas, Batangas and grew up to be an industrious businessman and farmer. 



According to history, Gen. Miguel Malvar joined the Katipunan and during the Philippine Revolution, participated in battles in Batangas and Cavite against the Americans and the last General to have surrendered to the Americans on April 16, 1092.

The shrine is in the town itself and behind the shrine is the Municipal Hall of Sto. Tomas.

Padre Pio National Shrine (San Pedro, Sto Tomas)
National Shrine of Padre Pio is a parish church and pilgrimage site situated at Brgy. San Pedro, Santo Tomas, Batangas. From a small chapel, St. Padre Pio Church has grown into a shrine with the altar hanging a huge crucifix and a painting of San Pedro by Jun Torres.  You wouldn’t believe but all expenses for the expansion and renovation are donated by St. Padre Pio’s devotees.



Aside from the regular Sunday and daily Masses, devotees and parishioners gather to the National Shrine for a special day of prayer to St. Padre Pio every 23rd of the month except on the month of May when it is being held on the Saint’s birthday, 25 May. Additional special days of prayer are being held every 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month.
Every Holy Week, devotees flock to visit the shrine to reflect and pray at the Stations of the Cross.

Rio de Camballao
From the town of Sto. Tomas, it will take you only 8 - 10 minutes to reach Brgy. San Pedro and then hire a tricycle ride to Camballao for P40.00 – P50.00. 





Entrance fee is only 25 pesos for adult and children above 3ft. However, Cottage ranges from 300 to 500 pesos.
