May Fiestas you Should Visit
Hello Every Juan, it’s me again #LalakingLayas. Kalalayas nagka-sun burn naging
#ProudMoreno naJ
Time flies so fast, it’s almost midyear. But I can say summer has just begun. Every summer has its own story as what they say; from being a beach bum turning into fiesta party goer.
And this May I will take you on a tour for you to experience the fun, see the vibrant colors and lots of happenings this month of festivities in Quezon Province.
Every Juan mark your calendar on the 15th of May! Because it is not just one but three town festivals is along the way! Yes, you read it right. Three events in just one day, three events from three different places in my province! CHEERS!
First on the go is the well known, the lively, the jam packed Pahiyas Festival of Lucban. Here you will experience the most colorful harvest festival in the Philippines! A trivia I would like to share with you – Quezon is dubbed as the “Land of Thousand Colors” because of Pahiyas Festival. And you know what, those “kipings” used as decors are actually edible. Kipings are made from rice dough turn into leaf-shaped wafer. Ain’t that nice? J
Pick one, try one.
Go for the unlimited selfies and groufies here in Pahiyas Festival. All the excitement and enticement will bring color and energy to your summer.
Every tourists from all walks of life go here to witness houses, buildings and stores being decorated with agricultural crops and actually Pahiyas Festival is a form of a contest because it is actually judged who has showcased best effort and talent to décor their crib. And of course, be practical, nothing should be wasted; those hanging fruits and vegetables can be cooked and eaten afterwards. As what the celebration is all about – thanksgiving for a bountiful harvest. So I guess, someone may get mad if we throw away those harvests, right? J Isahog na yan sa Pansit Habhab ang mga gulay na nakasabit para healthy living ka na! HAHAHA
Ready for more? Let’s enjoy the Mayohan Festival of Tayabas City. I hope you still have energy after roaming around Lucban because “may fiesta” pa tayong pupuntahan sa Tayabas. J
I can say that every town in our country has its unique way of celebrating fiestas so let’s find out how Tayabenses/Tayabasins do theirs. Come on let’s participate!
Mayohan Festival (I am not sure but it’s pretty obvious that the name of the festival was derived from “May”, haha I don’t know. Joke lang po! Peace!!)
Well anyways, the real experience of Mayohan Festival, aside from the procession of farmers which they do in return of good harvest is the Hagisan ng Suman! Hagisan hindi batuhan, hah? LOLS There’s a fine line difference between the two, HAHAHA!!! Suman or rice cakes is very good a breakfast (because it’s heavy) and even merienda! Either with sugar or honey, it’s yummy so mind as well grab all the sumans you can! HAHAHA

Now would you say it’s more fun in Tayabas because of the “hagisan ng suman’’ or better to say that you believe me now that every festival are unique in their own way? J I think LGU of Tayabas came up with this event to foster solidarity from their people living in the rural areas to meet the people of the booming city. Would you agree?
Festivals will help you appreciate more the value of culture and tradition of the town and its people.
For our third fiesta before we go home is Sariaya’s Agawan Festival! YEHEY! The celebration is known as the Happy Pandemonium
Agawan Festivals shouts out for competition and rivalry because the main characteristic of this festival is the “Bagakay” or baby bamboo trees that are decorated also will agricultural crops.
Agawan Festival is the fusion of Pahiyas and Mayohan. Decors from Pahiyas and “Rivalry” to catch and snatch the crops.
Agawan Festival is an engagement in the local community to attract tourists.
Participation in the religious procession is also held on this event.
Mamiesta, Makisaya sa Agawan sa Sariaya!
I hope you have noticed that the reason behind these fiestas is the blessing for a yearlong bountiful harvest in honor of VIVA SAN ISIDRO LABRADOR! St. Isidore is the patron saint of farmers. Pahiyas, Mayohan and Agawan means thanks. And sharing the harvest means keeping the tradition alive. Festivals transform these ordinary towns to a unique and exquisite sight. Festivals are proof of rich customs, understanding of way of life and a trace of history and belief.
Neighboring municipalities is worth the visit but I will tell you this why visit if you can live here? Located along the national highway of Brgy. Sto. Cristo, Sariaya is soon to rise Lumina Homes. Annual festivities is a very good thing to experience as a tourist year after year but what if you can be a local/home owner in this land where May 15 is a very big day of celebration?
You can be that Juan that is proud to say #BahayGoalsAchieved is attainable because of the affordable houses of Lumina Homes.
Quezon Province is not just your ordinary province. Reasons are already been stated. But I can add up more to what is stated. The answer is Lumina Homes with two projects here, the first one is in Tayabas and the new project is in Sariaya. You can live here with your family. Suitable for your needs and budget because dito #PresyongMayPuso. No need makipag “Agawan” sa Lumina Sariaya because we still have lots to offer for you pertaining to your family size for the reason that we have Angeli Single Firewall and Angeli Duplex with provision for 3 bedrooms; Angelique Townhouse provision for 2 bedrooms and Aimee Rowhouse provision for 1 bedroom.
It’s May already, “May Fiestas” are coming to town so are the nearly completed house models and showcase area of Lumina Homes Sariaya.
